Do they have to? Probably not, but in the end it's at least a little cheaper for them to pay a local than someone remote that they can't see or interact with in person. If you're a Facebook developer and don't live in Utah, please feel free to note it - I'm just proud of living in Utah right now and would love to see more local developers embrace Facebook.
